Welcome to the Office for Women

The Office for Women (OFW) works to promote equal rights, independence, dignity and equity for Westchester County women and their families through education and research, direct and contracted services, and by influencing public policy.

We work to ensure equal rights for all women. By supporting women in difficult, unjust circumstances, we attempt to protect women’s rights and lives. By celebrating women’s survival and achievements, we recognize the important contributions women make in our society. The Office for Women advances the cause of women, supports them in their choices, and serves their needs.

We address the needs of women and families in Westchester County on three levels:

  • Public Policy and Advocacy
  • Public Education and Research
  • Direct Services
Take Care of Yourself is an awareness campaign for women to remind them that heart disease is the #1 killer of women but it doesn't have to be.

Even though women may be vulnerable to depression at various times of their lives, depression is not a normal part of a woman’s life.

An outreach program promoting minority- and women-owned business participation in Westchester works to create a level playing field helping everyone succeed.

Emergency Contraception (EC) can safely prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex. EC is commonly called the Morning After Pill.
